Product Description

Liquid Desander Particle Separation Desanding Hydrocyclone Gravity Convential Device

Brief Introduction

A hydrocyclone is a simple cone-shaped cylindrical container that has no moving parts. It is used to separate or “cut” solid particles in a liquid stream by size and density.

Hydrocyclone separators are a device to classify, separate or sort particles in a liquid suspension based on the ratio of their centripetal force to fluid resistance. This ratio is high for dense (where separation by density is required) and coarse (where separation by size is required) particles, and low for light and fine particles. Hydrocyclones also find application in the separation of liquids of different densities.

Structure

Hydrocyclone tank is consisted with a upper hollow cylinder and a lower inverted cone, besides this, a feeding pipe, overflow pipe and sand settling outlet.

The slurry enters into the hydrocyclone, under a certain pressure of slurry pump (normally 0.5~2.5kg/cm) and flow rate (about 5~12m/s), and centrifugal force created by spinning. Under the force of centrifugal and gravity, the coarse and heavy particles thrown out.

Working Principle

Product is fed into the hydrocyclone tangentially under a certain pressure. This creates a centrifugal movement, pushing the heavier phase outward and downward alongside the wall of the conical part. The decreasing diameter in the conical part increases the speed and so enhances the separation. Finally, the concentrated solids are discharged through the apex. The vortex finder in the overflow part creates a fast rotating upward spiral movement of the fluid in the centre of the conically shaped housing. The fluid is discharged through the overflow outlet.
